About SCOAC

The Scottish Government has recognised and granted official registration of the Scottish Council of African Churches as a public company by government in Scotland. Following the successful collaboration of all African-led Churches in Scotland at the Edinburgh 2010 centenary Mission Conference and the just concluded Roll Away the Stone event organized by the Church of Scotland, the wider Scottish public is now beginning to witness and recognize the activities of the Scottish Council of African Churches, most especially the impact of these two major events that highlight the significance of collaboration, networking and Christian witness.

We believe that God is going to use this as a bridge to reenergise the Christian faith in the former heartlands of Christianity. To further strengthen this initiative, we are resolved to reach out to Christian leaders from Africa and other parts of the world to build synergies and provide spiritual guidance and support.

It is against this backdrop that the Council will be delighted and feel privileged to invite other Patrons, alongside other men of God including: Archbishop Desmond Tutu; The Archbishop of York, Dr. John Sentamu; and Pastor Dr William Kumuyi. In choosing the patrons, the Council have considered achievements, integrity and service to God and humanity, and above all the call of God on their lives.
